Warehouse Management

A connected warehouse, from stock receipt to despatch

Intend warehouse management software with barcode scanner and warehouse dashboard

From receiving stock through to cutting,
picking and despatch, Intend connects each
stage of your warehouse operation in one
clear workflow, designed around the daily
requirements of fabric, wallpaper, textile and
furnishing businesses.

One warehouse workflow, clearly connected

Intend brings together stock receipt, locations, picking, cutting and despatch within one connected warehouse process.

Your team can see what has been received, where stock is held, what needs to be picked or cut, and
what is ready to despatch, without relying on separate spreadsheets or disconnected systems.

This helps maintain accuracy, reduce manual handling
and keep warehouse activity moving efficiently from one stage to the next.

Managing your warehouse with Intend

Receiving incoming stock

When stock arrives, simply find the relevant purchase order within Pending Deliveries and receive it directly into Intend. Fabric can be entered as an individual roll or as a batch of rolls, with the relevant piece and batch information recorded as part of the receipt.

Intend also identifies customer orders already taken as backorders against that purchase order, giving the warehouse team immediate visibility of stock that is already committed as it comes into the warehouse.

Locating & moving stock

Stock received into Intend is automatically assigned to the Goods In location. Once labelled, each piece can simply be scanned into its appropriate rack or bay, updating its warehouse location in real time.

When the piece is required, its current location appears on the picking sheet. After cutting, newly printed labels retain the previous location, so the remaining stock can be returned to the correct place.

Picking & despatching

Picking sheets show the order, quantity required, SKU and current warehouse location. At the cutting table, scanning the Picking Ticket immediately brings up the order in Intend, ready for the stock piece to be scanned and verified.

Once prepared, stock and shipping labels are printed together. At the despatch table, scanning the Ship Label immediately identifies the shipment, making both picking and despatch fast, accurate and straightforward.

Shipping
& courier integration

Intend automatically produces commercial invoices for international shipments, using technical product information together with the relevant order, client and despatch details.

Courier software can also be integrated, reducing duplicate data entry and maintaining shipment records within Intend. Once despatched, the recipient is automatically sent the shipment details, including a link to track their delivery.

And let's not forget
sampling

Sample requests are handled through the same connected warehouse process, from identifying what needs to be prepared through to despatch and delivery.

Whether sending individual samples or larger sample orders, Intend keeps the activity connected to the client, product and original request, with the same visibility and control as other warehouse despatches.
